Rakhi : The Thread Of Love

Today from morning I am hearing rakshabandhan wishes..I remembered my college days where we used to tie rakhi to our classmates just to get the gifts ( especially chocolates)...That was for fun we did n to be frank we didnt exactly realized the meaning...But being in Mumbai, I am experiencing the warmth n love that share during raksha bandhan...Some separate shops have opened exclusively for rakhi..Those colorful rakhis are so beautiful.. rakhi making competetions are being held in schools n residence associations...I see children participate in those competetions ...This is really a colorful festival...

More about this festival....Rakshabandhan  is a festival observed in India , mostly among Hindus n Sikhs n some Muslims....This is a festival for celeberating the relationship of brother n sister...It involves tying rakhi (either handmade or readymade) by sister on her brother's wrist...This symbolizes the sister's love and prayers for her brother's well-being, and the brother's lifelong vow to protect her...
